Hobart Tasmania Travelling
By AndrewK

Hobart, once a convict town is now a bustling city. Harking back to its convict heritage the buildings around Hobart are quite intriguing. Around Salamanca there are many heritage listed buildings. Many of These now house craft stores and small pubs. A short walk up to battery point is well worth the effort. The buildings are quite interesting with many sandstone buildings.

The Cat and Fiddle Arcade is a great location especially if you have kids. Each hour on the hour there is a display that is sure to entertain the little ones and big ones alike.

A bit of a drive away is Port Arthur, this old convict settlement is very interesting and guided tours are available. Another tour that may be of interest is the ghost tours; these are very spooky so those who fright easily need not apply.

A trip to Hobart for many is not complete without a visit to the Cadbury factory located just outside of Hobart. There is a fee to go on the tour and bookings are essential as this is very popular with tourists and the locals. You can drive out from Hobart or catch a ferry or bus. The ferry ride is a nice trip up the Derwent river.
