Hobart, once a convict town is now a bustling city. Harking back to its convict heritage the buildings around Hobart are quite intriguing. Around Salamanca there are many heritage listed buildings. Many of These now house craft stores and small pubs. A short walk up to battery point is well worth the effort. The buildings are quite interesting with many sandstone buildings.
The Cat and Fiddle Arcade is a great location especially if you have kids. Each hour on the hour there is a display that is sure to entertain the little ones and big ones alike.

There is a fee to go on the tour and bookings are essential as this is very popular with tourists and the locals. You can drive out from Hobart or catch a ferry or bus.
